Hanging Out In Chestertown (NY)

Our base of operations during our Lake George vacation was Chestertown, NY.

I like Chestertown better than Lake George proper because there are less tourists, less traffic. The house we stayed at had everything you could want in walking distance (breakfast spot, a few bars, and a grocery store).

This is some footage of us hanging around the town and at the house and hitting up our favorite local shop the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor (the owner and staff are the nicest people).

Lake George: 2021 Pontoon Adventure Part 1

We did it again (and we will do it another time after this).

We rented a pontoon boat on Lake George and had ourselves a little adventure thanks to Lake George Island Boat rentals (shout out to Captain Dave in this video).

The weather on this day was not the best… it was grey and cold… but we made the best of it and had a good time anyway!

Drone Discussion: Mini vs. Mavic Air 2

I recently purchased the DJI Mavic Air 2 with the smart controller. In this video, I discuss why I upgraded from the original Mavic Mini and why the smart controller was a game changer for me.

Note: I called the Mavic Air 2 the MAVRICK Air 2 throughout the video… I keep doing it, I can’t stop, I am sorry (lol).

Discussing Color Grading and LUTs

After my first experience with color profiles on my Panasonic G7, I steered away from changing the settings on the camera. I didn’t know what I was doing, and I just followed what other vloggers said to do.

The problem is… most vloggers what the most neutral color palette from the camera, so they can tweak the colors in editing.

Who wants to do extra work?

If you are using a few different cameras in the same video, I understand the desire to have the same color science through all clips, but I am sticking to the default settings.

Sony 35mm F 1.8 Lens Review

I recently purchased a Sony 35mm F1.8 lens (SEL35F18F) and paired it with my A7C to make this review.

The low light performance is very good, but at the end of the video I was overly optimistic about the low light performance (I literally shut all of the lights off), as expected the ISO ramped up and caused some grain.

It still looked sharp and clear with very minimal lighting and I am looking forward to playing around with background lighting when I use it again.
