My family and I visited Patty’s Place several times last year and we made it a point to return thanks to their excellent homemade bread. The staff and customers are very nice and the downtown shops are fun to explore.

We returned to the Finger Lakes area and revisited a place we really enjoyed last year – Ray’s Restaurant. We actually went a few times during our stay and the family was not disappointed.
House Tour – New Paltz, NY Vacation Rental
When we visited the Mohonk Mountain House earlier this month, we rented a house in New Paltz so we could bring the dog (yes we rented a room to get access to the resort and a house).
The house was really nice, as was the down town area of New Paltz. I highly recommend the area and supporting the local businesses.
Recommendations:
- Hiking at the Mohonk Preserve
- Schatzi’s Pub (Ben loved this place and they are dog friendly!)
- Main Street Bistro (Great breakfast, very friendly waitresses)
Hiking at the Mohonk Mountain House
My family visited the Mohonk Mountain House in early July. We enjoyed the hiking trails, the food, and the overall vibe of being in the mountains for a few days.

Vlogging in Your Car
I recently watched a video on Sony Alpha Universe about mounting cameras inside your car and thought “that would be cool”.
I went out and purchased a SmallRig suction mount for my car window and started testing it for shaking, stability, and any other problems.
During one of my tests, my wife questioned if having the camera on the window was legal… and come to find out… it wasn’t. And it isn’t legal in 43 other states.
So I had to find an alternative. Check out my testing!
A Gross Hotel Story
I recently found myself traveling for business (again) and didn’t have a great experience at a hotel.
Sometimes you just need to roll with punches and get over minor grime issues when traveling, I just thought it was a funny story.
