Unlock Creative Lighting with DIY Mounts for PavoTube 6C

Take your NanLite PavoTube II 6C lights to the next level with creative mounting solutions! In this video, I explore using ball heads, magnets, and clamps to unlock a variety of lighting positions for these compact LEDs.

Pros:

  • DIY mounts offer incredible flexibility and precise light placement.
  • Perfect for experimenting with lighting techniques and creating unique effects.
  • Great for: Accent lighting, background lighting, and small set-ups.

Cons:

  • Battery life on the PavoTubes can be limiting for extended use.
  • Light spread may not be powerful enough for key lighting (especially without multiple tubes).

Is it worth it? Watch and see if creative mounts can elevate your PavoTube game, and discover if they’re strong enough to be your main light source.

Playing with Nanlite Tube Lights

This is not a full review. I purchased (3) Nanlite Pavotube II 6C tube lights this week tested how they looked distributed in key places in my basement.

I liked the results, but I think I need a few more.

This video was filmed using the Sony A7IV with the 20MM 1.8 and I also used the 35MM 1.8

If anyone watching this has ideas on better placement, if I should dim the lights more, whatever… I would love some feedback/ideas!

More Fun With Green Screens

This is a short video of me messing around with a new green screen.

I bought a pull-up style green screen (vs the bendable version) to see if it would be easier to set up and create less shadows (since it wasn’t hanging).

Set up was definitely easier, but lighting is lighting (unfortunately).

Genaray LED-6800 Light Review

I purchased the Genaray LED 6800 light via a B&H daily sale last week and wanted to do a review since there isn’t much information online about it.

It gets the job done, but there are some cheaper elements to the design and connection points that need additional consideration.

I also used this video as an opportunity to test out different shots within my house to film videos.

Plague Vlog: More Fun With Lights

Gorcka found a deal on two small LED lights ($20.99 total and they came with stands) that I thought would better balance the light in my vlogs.

I messed around with the lights to remove shadows and added some color cells for fun. Ben wants to do a Halloween-related show with the red lights… I am going to have to come up with some ideas for that.
